Ruhlman was also fast in practice this morning with the second fastest time, only 0.005 of a second behind Paul Gentilozzi.  The team made a few modifications after practice, but Ruhlman felt overall the car was good.  And after qualifying, Ruhlman knows that they made the correct changes.

"I am really happy with the way the car is handling.  It is unfortunate that qualifying was cut short the way it was.  I would've loved to have taken the pole, but with just a couple of laps on track, it was tough.  I got one clean lap, so we'll take the third and save it for the race," said Ruhlman.

Ruhlman currently holds the points lead in the 2005 Driver's Championship with 157 points after the first six rounds of racing.  As the driver of the Preformed Line Products Corvette, Ruhlman continues to hold a thirteen-point margin over the Jaguar of Klaus Graf, who qualified fifth here at Denver, and an eighteen-point lead over the sixth qualifier Jaguar driver Greg Pickett. 

Ruhlman is the only multiple winner so far this year on the Trans-Am circuit—Long Beach and Cleveland.  He is also the only driver in the paddock to have competed in all six Denver Grand Prix races.  Ruhlman ran the inaugural Denver Grand Prix in 1990 as a Trans-Am rookie and finished fifth last year, when an early spin forced him to charge back through the field.
