Ruhlman and Dallenbach to drive the #40 Preformed Line Products Daytona Prototype for Derhaag Motorsports at Watkins Glen

Shakopee, MN (Aug. 8, 2006)– Derhaag Motorsports announced the driver line-up of the #40 Preformed Line Products Daytona Prototype for this weekend's Grand American Rolex Cup race, The Royal Crown 200 At The Glen.  Long-time team driver Randy Ruhlman will be joined by veteran Paul Dallenbach for the 200-mile, two hour race on the 2.45-mile short course track at Watkins Glen, part of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup weekend.

"We are pleased to have such a great driver line-up for Watkins Glen with Randy and Paul at the wheel of the #40 Daytona Prototype," says team owner Jim Derhaag.  "Paul will be a good addition to the team.  He has excellent driving skills and car control, as well as a reputation for keeping the car in one piece.  We've always had that kind of speed and heads-up driving with Randy at the helm, and we're lucky to be able to have Paul come in and complement that.  We had a good setup last time we were at Watkins, so we're really looking forward to getting the car out on the track in the dry and seeing what it can do.  It will be nice to work together with these two experienced drivers to help get the #40 car back up into the top ten where it should be."

The Grand American Daytona Prototypes race this Friday evening, August 11th, at the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup weekend at Watkins Glen for the Royal Crown 200 At The Glen.  The Rolex Series presented by Crown Royal Special race starts at 6:30 p.m. ET and will air same day, tape delayed at 9 p.m. ET on SPEED Channel.

Paul Dallenbach is a veteran race car driver with experience in Formula cars, rally and hill climbs, Trans-Am and Daytona Prototypes.  Paul is a winner and record holder on the famous Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb, and has a second place finish at the Daytona 24 Hour race.  He was the Rookie of the Year in Formula Atlantics and VW Cup, and has numerous rally and hill climb records.  He most recently drove in Daytona Prototypes at this year's Rolex 24 At Daytona in the #74 car with his brother, Wally Dallenbach, and Darin Brassfield, both long time Trans-Am/IMSA and NASCAR drivers.  Paul Dallenbach currently works extensively as a precision driver and has a myriad of commercial driving credits to his name.

Randy Ruhlman just came off a successful 2005 season driving for Derhaag Motorsports in the Trans-Am Series with wins at both the Cleveland Grand Prix and the Long Beach Grand Prix.  Ruhlman was named the 2005 BBS "Most Improved Driver of the Year" and was runner up for the 2005 Trans-Am Drivers' Championship.  Ruhlman is fourth overall in Top Ten finishes in Trans-Am history.  Ruhlman, from Greensboro, NC, has been a professional race car driver since his Rookie year in Trans-Am in 1990 and has extensive racing experience, predominantly in road racing in the Trans-Am Series, as well as in IMSA, ASA and the NASCAR short track series.
